Key Word

speak of the devil: something you say when the person you were talking about appears unexpectedly. 호랑이도 제말하면 온다. 유래가 '귀신에 대해서 말하면 귀신이 온다'와 같음. 

Apparently she went there and was not that impressed - oh speak of the devil, here she is!

Be careful when you are saying negative things about someone, speak of the devil.

 

get assistance from: receive help from someone

The visitors get assistance from the local agency.

 

get (someone) on the horn: make use of or speak (to someone) on the telephone. 잘 안쓰이고 get on the phone을 더 많이 씀.

I want you to get him on the horn now.

 

pick back up: be better or to improve

I sure hope sales will pick back up soon, or we are really going to be in trouble.

 

fret over: worry about someone or something ~에 대해 초조해지다.

Do not fret over your kids weird habits!

Don’t fret over every small detail. We don’t have time for it.

 

walk someone through: slowly and carefully explain something to someone or show someone how to do something. 천천히 설명해주다.

carry someone through: to help someone be able to deal with a difficult situation. 도와주다

I cannot walk you through every detail this time, but I will try to carry you through the highlights.

 

do the math: 계산하다

feasible: 가능한

I’ll do the math and see if it is feasible.

제가 계산해서 가능한지 알아보겠습니다.

Better: I quit the salsa dancing group.

 

Original: I think I've explained to be a salary thief who doesn't work.

Better: I think I've explained what a salary thief is to you, someone who doesn't do their work.

 

Original: I had difficulty working with some bossy manager.

Better: I found if difficult to work with a bossy manager.
