ask someone out: invite someone to go with you somewhere

John wants to ask you out to lunch.

 

walk by: walk past someone or something

The waiter will walk by our table in a few minutes.

 

by coincidence: unintentionally happening at the same time or in the same way as something else

We went to the same restaurant by coincidence.

 

go down the drain: for something to become spoiled or wasted

I was so sad when my team’s project was cancelled. It was hard to watch all of our hard work go down the drain.

 

second a motion: agree with a motion that someone has proposed in a meeting

I agree with the proposal, so I will second his motion.

누군가 의견을 제시할 때, 동의하면 I will second, I will sencond the motion 하면서 손으로 두 번째 표시를 하며 동의를 표한다.

 

no brainer: a decision that is very easy. 실제 생활에서 많이 사용됨. 생각할 것도 없지. 식은 죽 먹기지. 같은 뜻. 

Given John’s extensive experience, letting him take over the account was a no brainer.

Better: I tell you something. or I talk to you about something.

 

Original: There is a topic, and she wants to suggest or delivery something she want to say.

Better: With speaking, she delivers information and suggestions about a topic.

 

Original: But my customer didn't choice our product, so I felt my all effort, my all weekends, my all hard work went down the drain.

Better: But my customer didnt' choice our product, so I felt my all effort, weekends, my all hard work went down the drain.

 

Original: second a motion

Better: Person 1-- I make a motion to extend the deadline of this project. Person 2-- I second the motion.

 

Original: no brainer

Better: Do I want more ice cream? That's a no brainer, of course I do!
