We should not only emulate the best practices and products but unveil our own ideas from time to time.

 

hobbled: be impeded or set at a disadvantage; constrained. 다리를 절뚝거리다. 방해하다.

impede: 지연시키다. 방해하다

The whole organization has been hobbled by mismanagement.

 

megatrend: a trend that promises to globalize and dramatically affect the way of life

It seems to be a megatrend sweeping the globe.

The stock market was highly volatile in the early part of the year.

 

resilience: the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness, 회복력, 탄력

The resilience of the economy has come as a surprise to some.

 

game-changer: a new factor or improvement that noticeably or drastically shifts behavior, production, or other system

Some new products may be a game- changer and if you can put them out first you can make great profits.

 

sort out: classify, clarify 문제를 해결하다

Production scheduling tends to produce a division between the sales team and the manufacturing team, with management stuck sorting out the problems.

 

side with: 편들다

endeavor: 애쓰다, 노력하다

However, management often sides with the sales team, as both endeavor to maximize profits.

 

downtime: 쉬는 시간

The scheduler does not schedule any downtime for rush/special orders, staff absences, equipment breakdowns, or other production problems.

 

bear the brunt of : ~의 공격을 집중적으로 받다. ~에 정면으로 맞서다, 가장 큰 타격을 받다

The salesmen then bear the brunt of the delayed orders.
