Key Word

buy out: buy a part of a company or building from someone else so that you own all of it. (타입·권리 등을) 매수하다.

To become an even bigger company, we decided to buy out our rival by purchasing all their public stock.

 

front office: the divisions of a business or organization that deals with customers or the public, such as the sales or marketing divisions. (사업체의) 경영 본부[대고객 부서]

As a salesman, I am so glad to be a part of the front office because that is where you get to meet the most customers.

 

all- time low: the lowest level has ever been

Just as it seemed that the economy could not get any worse, news of the oil spill sank economic performance to a new all-time low.

 

top brass: the people in the highest positions. 고급 간부들

It is not my goal to be a part of the top brass because I get my self-esteem from my ability to create, not from my ability to command others.

 

downward spiral: a situation that is getting worse very quickly, and which is difficult to control. 제어하기 어려울 정도로 급속히 상황이 나빠짐

The series of setbacks sent us into a downward spiral where it seemed that we could not get into the proper position.
